Identity verification and safety are different

We verify that accounts belong to real, identifiable people. That is accountability, not a guarantee of safety. Please read this before arranging help with anyone.

What “Identity Verified” means

It means one specific thing: the member photographed a government-issued photo ID and the name printed on it matched the name they entered. We do not assess whether the document was genuine, and we keep no copy of it.

What it does not mean

  • It does not mean safe.
  • It does not mean trusted.
  • It does not mean background checked.
  • It does not mean criminal-record checked.
  • It does not mean guaranteed, vetted or endorsed.

Identity verification does not guarantee a person's character, intentions, conduct, reliability, or suitability for every interaction.

“Police Check Submitted” is a separate, optional label

Some helpers choose to obtain a police clearance certificate from their own local police service, at their own cost, and upload it here. Where they have, their profile shows a Police Check Submitted label.

  • It means a certificate in that member's name was submitted and the name matched their account.
  • We do not confirm that the certificate is genuine, and we keep no copy of it.
  • We never see what a record does or does not contain.
  • It does not mean safe, trusted, vetted or guaranteed.
  • Please still meet carefully and use your own judgement.

“Known to Pramath” is a personal-acquaintance label

This label means only that Pramath personally knows the member. Pramath alone can add or remove it. It is not an identity, police or background check, and it does not guarantee character, intentions, conduct, reliability or suitability. Please still use your own judgement.

Practical safety guidance

  • Meet in public or with another person present for a first interaction where you can.
  • Tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to be back.
  • Keep arrangements inside the platform so there is a record.
  • Do not send money, share financial details, or share identification documents with other members.
  • Stop and report anything that feels wrong — you never owe anyone an explanation.
  • In an emergency, contact local emergency services first.

Reporting

Report concerning behaviour to safety@helpingbandhu.com. We can suspend or revoke an account's verification status where there is an administrative or security reason to do so.
